ESSNCE ("the app") is a mobile audio production app. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

What We Collect

Analytics (PostHog)

We collect anonymous usage data to understand how the app is used and improve it. This includes:

• Screen views and feature usage (which screens you visit, which tools you use)
• App lifecycle events (launch, background, foreground)
• Device type and Android version (for compatibility)

We do NOT collect your name, email, location, contacts, or any audio content you create.

Crash Reports (Supabase)

When the app crashes, we automatically send an anonymous crash report containing:

• Error type and stack trace (technical details about what went wrong)
• Device model and Android version
• App version

Crash reports contain no personal information or audio content.

Feedback (Optional)

If you choose to send feedback through the app, we collect the message you write and your email address (if you provide one). This is entirely voluntary.

What We Don't Collect

• Audio recordings or samples you create
• Project files or their contents
• Your name, email, or any personal identifiers (unless you voluntarily send feedback)
• Location data
• Contacts, photos, or files

Third-Party Services

• PostHog (EU instance) — anonymous analytics. PostHog Privacy Policy
• Supabase — anonymous crash reports. Supabase Privacy Policy

Both services process data within the European Union.

Data Storage

All your audio content, projects, and settings are stored locally on your device. We have no access to your creative work. Project files (.essketch) are only shared when you explicitly export and send them.

Your Rights

You can:

• Disable error reporting in Settings > Diagnostics
• Request deletion of any data we hold via our data deletion form or by contacting us
• Uninstall the app to remove all local data

Children

ESSNCE is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
